Henry Bianchini came to Hawaii in 1969 from Southern California on his self built trimaran Island Dancer.   He lives and works in Keaau, in the Puna district on the Big Island of Hawaii, and has distinguished himself internationally as a sculptor, painter, craftsman and prolific all around artist.

Artist's statement:

I return to man’s earliest cultures for inspiration, using the gesture of tribal rituals and the symbols of Mythology. I combine primitive forms with modern concepts to create new and unique images that resonate on many levels. In my work I try to find a richness of meaning that enlivens and illuminates our lives.
